I was approached to make a limited-edition risograph poster for the release of Chimera, a short documentary about pro skater turned ceramic artist James Alby, which premiered at the Portland Panorama film festival and won best short documentary.

	I was given reference photos, which I re-interpreted by printing them out multiple times on the same sheet to saturate the paper with ink so that it showed through the back of the paper, then scanning that in and finally risograph printing the final composition.

These analog transformations of the images created a relationship to the medium of ink and paper that felt connected to the way James talks about his relationship to the medium of clay in the documentary.

Face Plant is the plant-based fast food restaurant that’s taking on McDonald’s.&#38;nbsp; Headed by Matt Plitch in parternership with Molly Baz, Face Plant serves up fast food classics like burgers, fries and shakes with a plant-based twist that has gained them an instant cult following.

Face Plant had amazing branding created by Portland creative studio Fisk, and in the home stretch before launch day they needed someone who could jump into the production files on an as-needed basis to make changes.
I used my Adobe Illustrator skills and ability to work within brand guides to deliver the changes while maintaining the integrity of the brand foundation and deliver production-ready files.

Permission Slip is a magazine I’m starting with two friends that revolves around creative process and letting go of perfectionism—giving yourself Permission to Slip, to make mistakes, to make something unexpected.
Together, the three of us created a visual language, which I translated this to our website, building a home for Permission Slip for potential contributors to learn more about the project and understand the concept and vibe of what they were considering submitting to.&#38;nbsp; A few months after launching the site, we have over 40 submissions!

Designing two skateboard graphics per week forced me to explore different methods of image-making without over-thinking it. Compiling them all in a booklet a la the iconic CCS mail order catalogs of the 90’s and early 00’s was the perfect way to present the body of work to the target audience in a unique way.

	Boys Do Cry is an evolving project about masculinity and gender.&#38;nbsp; It started out as a design practice of creating t-shirt graphics that fuses gender fuckery with bootleg  culture .&#38;nbsp; Then it evolved into a book club for skateboarders (and friends) who are interested in developing a healthier version of masculinity.
	

Boys Do Cry started as a t-shirt design-and-screen-printing practice that examines gender and masculinity through pop culture, bootleg imagery, and music culture. Through themes of duality (angels &#38;amp; demons, sacred &#38;amp; profane, masculine and feminine) it reminds us to stay soft and not forget the songs that made us cry.

I created seasonal collections of shirt graphics, each with a distinct feel from the others, while being aligned with the core identity and narrative of the brand.


The combination of message, aesthetics and humor resonated with an overlapping Venn diagram of people, including the trans community, skateboarders, and artists.

The “Don’t Honk at Me...” bumper sticker unexpectedly took on a life of it’s own, even being reproduced as part of an installation by artist Alex Lukas at Printed Matter’s 2025 LA Art Book fair.


Phase 2: BDC Book Club

BDC Book Club is the next phase of Boys Do Cry.&#38;nbsp; I was inspired by the Slow Impact skate conference in Arizona to try to take some of my ideas about gender and present them to the skateboarding community.
So I set up a weekly combination skate session and book club meeting where we’re reading Bell Hooks’ The Will to Change, the book that started my journey with gender and masculinity.&#38;nbsp; I created a website to explain the concept and how it evolve out of the previous t-shirt brand, as well as bookmarks and tee shirts, flyers and other promo.

Bloom is a fictional coffee roaster and cafe that I imagined as a branding exercise. It has that rare balance of consistently great coffee and familiar&#38;nbsp; neighborhood vibes that make it home to artists and shop regulars, without influencer hype.

The name bloom takes inspiration from both the ‘bloom’ of freshly ground coffee when the hot water hits is, as well as the flowers of the coffee plant, which bloom in dense clusters.&#38;nbsp; I created an expressive hand-lettered wordmark and illustrations that imagine the coffee flowers as individuals coming together around great coffee.
